Let's look into the properties of Reservatrol and whether red is better than white wine?

Reservatrol, is a polyphenol found in the skin of grapes, and other edible plants and food products and has received extensive attention in medical research projects and in mainstream media.

Resveratrol is found in:

  • Red wine;

  • Purple berries - blueberries, mulberries;

  • Red berries - strawberries, raspberries, and

  • Boiled peanuts.

The antioxidant theories of Reservatrol include:

  • High dose food antioxidant that could be capable of "killing" free radicals;

  • High dose antioxidant that may help to fight ageing, and

  • High dose antioxidant that could help to reduce oxidative stress and aid cardiovascular disease.

While white wine doesn't share the same Reservatrol properties as red wine any consumption of alcohol should be strictly monitored by your treating doctor or GP. Hypertensive patients are advised to avoid or limit their alcohol intake.
